Many people suffer from gum disease and its effects. The most common treatment for gum disease is scaling and root planing. This process cleans the area between your gums and teeth all the way down to the roots. It’s important to get into your dentist as soon as you notice any effects of gum disease.

After the scaling and root planing process is completed it’s critical you take really good care of your teeth. Not properly brushing and flossing can not only encourage infection it can cause the gum disease to return. The procedure is not complicated but needs to be done before the disease has gone too far.
