Dr. Kurt Tingey, DMD

Dr. Kurt S. Tingey was born in Provo, Utah and has lived in various locations throughout the United States, including Laie, HI; St. George, UT; and Washington, D.C., before finally settling in Pocatello, Idaho. In high school he participated in football, basketball, and track and field. He also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. After high school, Dr. Tingey served a church mission to Recife, Brazil, where he learned the Portuguese language. This foundation now allows him to understand a great deal of Spanish.

Dr. Tingey attended Ricks College for two years and participated in football. He then transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he received his BA in Portuguese. Dr. Tingey attended dental school at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, where he received his DMD degree. Upon graduation, he worked in Las Vegas before moving to the beautiful Pacific Northwest outside of Portland, OR, where he practiced for nearly a decade.

In 2014 Dr. Tingey married his wife, Ashlee (Nye), who grew up in Buhl, and later attended Idaho State University in Pocatello. They welcomed their son Cooper in 2016. Dr. Tingey enjoys golf, barbeque, trivia, water sports, and spending time with family. He and his family love the Magic Valley and everything it has to offer.

Dr. Tingey has worked over ten years as a dentist and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. He finds great satisfaction working together with his patients to provide treatment that will improve their oral health, happiness, and self-confidence. Dr. Tingey enjoys building great relationships with his patients. His goal with each one is to ensure their visit will be a comfortable and enjoyable experience. He has found a special interest and enjoyment in root canal treatments and orthodontics, and is certified with Invisalign and Clear Correct. Additionally, he has specific training in placing implants, cosmetic veneers, wisdom teeth removal, pediatric dentistry, and is one of a small percentage of dentists who is certified and trained to perform both conscious and IV sedation.
